Our client, a leading Fire and Security company, is seeking a Permanent Technical Engineer to join their team in Glasgow, Scotland. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Technical Engineer and possess a strong technical background to ensure the successful completion of complex projects. This role involves close collaboration with the Technical Manager/Director, providing both remote and on-site support, managing technical projects, and ensuring efficient and effective programming and commissioning of security systems.
- Proven experience as a Security Service Engineer or in a similar technical role.
- In-depth knowledge of Server Operating Systems, specifically Server 2012/2016 & 2019.
- Strong understanding of IPV4 TCP/IP networking, experience with L2 and L3 switches, VLANs, and Firewall Rules.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2012 to 2019), including database creation and configuration via Enterprise Manager.
- Ability to manage technical projects and communicate status updates effectively to the management team.
- Experience in completing system builds and programming, including server and client operating system installations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to train and guide installation engineers and customers.
- Ability to identify potential technical issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and ensure compliance with project standards.
